Manwhore #4; Interconnected standalone
You’ve seen the headlines: Womanizing billionaire player! Watch out! Stay away!
We were just two strangers. Facing a forbidden attraction, a chemical connection. Neither of us expected or wanted it to amount to more.
But I had never been drawn to a guy the way I was drawn to this one: my brother’s best friend, and CEO of the company where I interned.
Even knowing I should stay away, I proved to be too human, after all.
The chemistry was amazing.
The laughs were incredible.
I opened up to him in more ways than I’d opened up to anyone before.
But sex was as far as I’d go.
Just sex because he was too irresistible.
Just sex because I wouldn’t be falling for him.
Just sex because I’d leave in three months, and I’d like for my brother not to kill me, and for nobody to find out he was my wicked little secret.
He wasn’t the One.
He was just a womanizer.
But for a time, he would be mine.
Callan has previously been penned as the mysterious manwhore that runs his own company and hadn’t dreamed of settling down. Having not explored him prior, Evans left this entire book open to really get to know him without too many preconceived notions. This is even further achieved by focusing the novel in the heroine’s head so that we find him just as she does: slowly and intimately. WOMANIZER found its way to the top of the list, for me, in the Manwhore series because of how geniusly Evans wrote the connection and effortless build up between Callan and Olivia.
Tahoe’s sister, Olivia, is down-to-earth and unforgivingly herself. She’s charming without intending to be so, and lacks the filter that most have. This bodes well for her as her naivity lends well into shocking the experienced Callan. As a man who has been there and seen that, her unabashed comfortability surprises and beguiles him. I fell for Callan and his mystery that was also very open at the same time. Their cat and mouse game was sexy and fun which made the novel wholly enjoyable. I was charmed by their dance.
WOMANIZER will charm its way into your heart. Both main characters were fresh in roles where they shouldn’t feel that way. It was an easy story to get into and stay with, but most of all it had a passioniate romance that’ll pull you in. I enjoyed the journey and fell in love with it along the way, and readers will too.
